Tidings of Comfort & Joy - Ashton-Drake Holiday 2021

February is Black History Month, a time for us to honor and reflect on the contribution African Americans have made not only to our history, but also to our society. Diversity is what makes America unique, and it is our hope that this diversity is appreciated and represented.

Several of the Master Doll Artists that we work with share this sentiment, and strive to celebrate the beauty of diversity. This month, we’d like to showcase their work with a spotlight on African-American collectible dolls available only from The Ashton-Drake Galleries.

Tasha TrueTouch™ Silicone Baby Doll
Tasha is an office favorite here at The Ashton-Drake Galleries. Soft, curly hand-rooted hair frames her sweet face, and her pouty lips beg for a kiss. You’ll see the love that Master Artist Linda Murray poured into her original sculpt, from the tips of Tasha’s adorable ears to her tiny manicured fingers and toes. Plus, Tasha is a TrueTouch™ silicone baby doll with naturally weighted head, arms and legs, so she’ll feel as lifelike as she looks when you cradle her in your arms.

Alexis Poseable Baby Doll
Alexis is our first-ever African-American baby doll to feature our Hold That Pose!™ technology. She has an infinite range of motion, and can hold any pose you put her in, from blowing you a kiss, to raising her arms up for a hug. Sculpted by Master Doll Artist Waltraud Hanl, Alexis is beautifully handcrafted and hand-painted, and her hand-rooted hair is styled in perky pigtails with petite flower barrettes.

Sweet Butterfly Kisses Interactive Baby Doll
Sculpted by Master Doll Artist Waltraud Hanl, this adorable baby girl doll responds to your touch and coos when you tickle her cheek with your eyelashes. Her smiley eyes are the highlight of her charmingly expressive face, and her pudgy little arms and legs are made of baby-soft RealTouch®vinyl, which adds to her amazing realism.

Sunshine and Lollipops Child Doll
This charming little girl doll was a 2014 DOLLS Awards of Excellence winner, bringing home the Industry Choice honor for the collectible child doll category. This irresistibly cute, poseable child doll was award-winning doll artist Jane Bradbury’s Ashton-Drake Galleries debut, and we’re thrilled she’s part of our family. From her sparkling eyes to her tiny toes, she is an adorably loveable ray of sunshine.

Alanna Baby Doll
Alanna was inspired by our third-annual Such a Doll!™ Baby Photo Contest. Working from a picture submitted by Alanna’s proud godmother, Master Doll Artist Ping Lau meticulously captured Alanna’s darling features and her bubbly personality. Handcrafted of RealTouch® vinyl with hand-rooted hair and hand-applied lashes, Alanna is sure to win the heart of anyone she meets!

Michelle Obama Inaugural Ball Portrait Doll
This captivating doll captures the spirit, grace and style of former First Lady Michelle Obama. In this breathtaking tribute, she wears a splendid reproduction of the stunning red chiffon gown she chose for President Obama’s second inauguration. Her outfit is perfectly accessorized with shimmering Swarovski crystals on her ring, bangle bracelets, and the custom ring gracing the neckline of her gown.
