Find the right Santa for YOU!
I love everything about Christmas. From the decorations to all the songs (old and new), planning my gift lists, classic Christmas movies and best of all – I LOVE the magic that is Santa Claus. I might be a grown adult, but there’s still a small part of me that hopes that Santa will magically appear in my home and eat the milk and cookies I left for him. Thankfully I have kids, so it doesn’t appear that it’s just me hoping for his arrival, but the thought of him being such a big jolly man who loves spreading cheer is what makes the holiday special. When I was little, I had a neighbor who was well known in our community who would dress up for his grandkids as Santa every year. His grandkids lived right across the street from us too, so I would watch him from the window slowly making his way to their house in the snow holding a huge sack of gifts. It really made me believe that the magic of Santa and giving lived in everyone.
When I decorate my home, I make it a point to have Santa as a focal point so that my kids can be reminded of the joy of the holidays. He represents happiness and giving – and I hope that I embody that to my family so that my kids can pass it on to theirs.
I’m new to the Ashton-Drake world and I have to admit I’m still getting my feet in the snow in getting to know all of the awesome products we offer. And since my Santa collection could probably use a bit of a refresh, I browsed through our selection of jolly St. Nicks and was blown away by the artistry, detail and overall whimsy of these happy Santas. Some of the details I look for is the quality of his beard – how is it shaped? What is it made of? Are his cheeks rosy? I’ll also look at his robe or coat and more specifically, the fur lining that is a trademark characteristic of his suit. What I look for in the faux fur is the poof of it. I love when it has a roundness to it like it’s genuinely fuzzy or intentionally meant to keep him insulated from the chill of winter. If it has any other kind of embellishments like flecks of gold, holiday-style embroidery or adornments that represent Christmas – I immediately fall in love.
